The Village Recreation Department vision is to provide fun, accessible, and creative recreation events for residents of the Lakes District while encouraging and supporting local recreation groups and organizations. Many Village recreation events are held at Lakeside Multiplex, Arena, Curling Rink and/or Spirit Square.
The Recreation Department consists of a Director of Recreation Services, Arena Foreman, Recreation Clerk/Programmers, Arena Attendants, Program Leaders and volunteers that contribute to making community recreation facilities and programs accessible and fun all year long.
Dooseon Jung is the Director of Recreation Services for the Village of Burns Lake.
If you have event ideas or if your recreation group could use some assistance with planning, contact the Recreation Department.
Charlie Bowerbank is the Arena Foreman for the Village of Burns Lake.
Arena staff ensures that the ice surface is maintained to a high quality level and adjusts it as required by user groups. Most of the Arena staff time is spent maintaining the ice surface multiple times throughout the day and assisting user groups. Specialized tickets are required to occupy and work at the Arena. During the off season, arena staff completes maintenance on the building and the ice plant and setting up for dry floor activities. If you are interested in renting the arena, please contact the Recreation Department.
